Sunday was awesome with praise and worship at a church in Antigua. We attended a service for the adults and participated in the young adult ministry. You could feel God’s presence as we worshiped, listened and participated in both English and Spanish throughout the service. Our team lead the music. Guatemalan kids listened as we sang the first two songs in English. It was very cool how the kids jumped to their feet once we put the lyrics up in Spanish and Jordan and Caleb lead them in their own language!
We were unable to go to the orphanage due to problems with weather, traffic and schedules but it is not our plan but God’s.
A few kids had small stomach issues yesterday but praise God that all are healthy this morning and ready for to our trip to the villages near Lake Atitlan about 3.5 hours west of Guatemala. We will be spending the night in two different villages so we will be out of touch for the next few days. Please continue to pray for God’s blessings. Awesome things are happening here.

Hi team!
I’m bummed that you didn’t get to visit the orphanage and love on those kids, but obviously it wasn’t in God’s plan! At church Sunday morning, we took about five minutes to especially lift up all those on mission trips so you all were well prayed over! We’re continuing to ask God for safety, unity, boldness, and that many lives might be turned over to Him as a result of your obedience to our awesome Redeemer!! We love you, Danny, and can’t wait to hear all your amazing stories of His power and grace!!
Praying for the team. I know that the Lord is using all of you in great and mighty ways for Kingdom. I am a bit jealous Lake Atitlan is such a beautiful place.
Lake Atitlan Rocks. Hope you get to see it. Praying for you guys.
We are praying for you all. We send our love to Corey and the team! Give ‘em heaven in Atitlan.
Sorry to hear about the orphanage! God must have some really great things in store for you guys. Can’t wait to hear. Have fun over the next couple of days!
Praying that God reveals to each one of you His plans as you minister to people in Guatemala no matter where you are. God does not need a planned event to use you. He simply wants to use you where you are right now. Sounds like the team is deeply connected to the Spirit. I’ll be praying for your protection from any distractions.
Love you all! Can’t wait to hear more.
Sorry to hear about the orphanage but we know God has got something perfectly orchestrated for you all. Trust Him! We are excited you have been able to worship together and celebrate our great GOD who transcends all cultures. We are praying for you and cannot wait to hear of your village experiences. Dive in with courage and love the people well even if you cannot speak their language. Cores…we love you and miss you. We are excited for the journey you are on. Heard you had a great spaghetti dinner there…Ha! your favorite! Will continue to pray for all of you as you continue to serve with diligence for HIS GLORY. love and hugs, The Montgomerys
Andy and Libby are here. They had a great time with Mimi & Poppy. Looking forward to a fun time together. These posts are so informative. Thank you for posting as you are able.
Can’t believe you all have been gone for 4 days already. God has really put an excitement in my heart for your team and I can’t wait to hear what he is doing in and through you. Stay strong, remember he is using you even if you don’t “feel” it sometimes. Don’t depend on “feelings” but keep walking in faith and in HIS POWER. Baby steps are sometimes better than giant steps. I keep getting a vision of a lion that has been locked up for a long time and is finally finding the strenght to jump out of its cage and ROAR!!!!!!!!! I pray that God will show each and every one of you the LION inside and you will step out in faith and allow it to ROAR for HIM!!! Jordan, we sure do miss you and your “voice”. Hope you are filled with his joy as you sing praises to him and minister to others. We love you sooooooo much. Can’t wait to have you home and hear what he has done.
Dear Team,
I went and looked online at pictures of Lake Atitlan. It looks beautiful. I am picturing you all loving on and ministering to people in an incredibly beautiful place. Wow!
Allie, I miss you and our crazy language. You know how much Doug can’t stand it.
I can’t wait to see all of you and to hear the wonderful stories that you will have to share.
Love you guys, especially Allie,
Catherine Ibarra
The Brasil team is back home and praying for our brothers and sisters in Guatemala. My prayer is that you pause to see how God will use you today for His unique plan. Embrace His plan!!
I had a thought last night about Paul’s prayer that God would use this trip to show each of you how blessed you are living here in the Roswell/East Cobb/South Cherokee. Even though I know that the children from the orphanage would have loved your visit maybe God felt it was much more important to express to you that he is in charge of this trip! He is so awesome and knows exactly what we need it is always hard when he humbles us. I am excited to see and hear how everything turns out. Taryn, Just wanted to say that we miss you and love you very much. We are so proud of you. Love you, Mom
Praying for the team as you overnight in the villages – how awesome to get to do that!! We’ll be praying for all of you during Prayer Breakfast tomorrow – for good health, abundant energy and for all of you to let go and just let God speak through you to the people of Guatemala. Can’t wait for you to get back to the mission house so we can get updates!! Love to everyone!!
Steph and Rachel we are eating papas fritas and papas chipos for breakfast, lunch and dinner thinking about you
Should we leave the dishes in the sink until you both come back or the dishwasher? Booyah!
Praying for you all often.
Love ya,
Kevin & Ethan
I am so sorry to see you weren’t able to go to the orphanage, but God has some great plans in mind. I find myself thinking about you all the time and pray for you just as often. I love each of you dearly and am missing you! Praying for a safe time down there, and a safe trip back. (Psh… you all shouldn’t be thinking about the trip back yet… it’s only Wednesday! (but barely…)
) Much love
