9 am Eastern, 7am Mountain…The mission house is alive with the sound of breakfast being prepared, the chipper (and industrious
) sound of students’ voices in the kitchen. People moving in and out of the bathrooms getting ready for church. I think most everybody slept well last night after a day in the market that felt a lot like the one hunting trip I’ve been on. Tracking down purses, soccer jerseys, bible covers and other wily game in the shadow of the volcano. When we got home we moved into the new mission house and had some great Guatemalan fare. Spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and sweet tea.
We had one student lose their lunch during dinner…she felt one hundred percent better shortly after.
Later in the evening we split up into a guys’ group and a girls’ group. It was a powerful time of ministering to one another in truth and vulnerability. God really moved.
We’ll all be heading out for church 45 minutes from now, then lunch at Chili’s, home to change and time at the orphanage. I’m excited about the prospect of seeing this team minister to the children at Casa Para Ninos and seeing Casa Para Ninos chip away at some of the entitlement we’ve carried with us from North Fulton, East Cobb and South Cherokee. (All pointing fingers are aimed at me.) We will be sure to take some pictures at the orphanage and post them on the blog tonight.
Thank you for your comments and prayers we read them and LOVE them so much. Andy and Libby we miss you and love you. (Andy, I bought you a sword…don’t tell mom.
Blessings from the shadow of the volcano.
Paul for the team
PS I miss the rest of my FBC One Heart family. See you soon.
Thanks for the update! I’m so excited for yall to visit the orphanage today! I’m praying that each of you are touched by God in ways you maybe weren’t at home. Also praying for HIS eyes and HIS ears to recognize opportunities to go the extra mile and impact someone.
Can’t wait to see the pictures tonight!
Lots of Love,
Megan Schroeder
Hello OH Guatemala team,
I hope you all were blessed by today’s church service and visit to Casa para los ninos. Worshipping with fellow believers in Guatemala brings to mind what scripture says it will be like in heaven. When people from every nation, tribe and language will be standing before the Lamb.
I will be praying your love touches many people as Christ works through you.
Praying for you all,
Jose Ibarra
P.S. Allie we are glad you’re on this mission trip but miss you very much. The family vacation is not the same without you!
Jordan Brower! We miss you so very much and are praying for you to be used in mighty ways. Be Bold, Be Humble, Be YOU!
…….
PS. I want to clean your room but I may loose “my lunch” if I try to go in there for any length of time
Love, Mom and Bill

Hey everyone! Glad to hear you all are having a smooth trip! Casa Para Ninos was one of my favorite memories, be sure to say hey to my man, Pepito! Praying for you all on your date with Jesus. You are all a part of God’s Army, and you have a chance to injure the enemy, so pursue that with all you are!!
Corey, SCHWENGA!!!! Yes, you know what i’m talking about!! The thing that Dad usually yells in the middle of your soccer game. just kidding…………But Seriously.. Good evening from Rio Brasil! Today was our rest day and we began by praying for our Haiti and Guatemala teams. Tomorrow (Monday) is our last day of mission meetings then off to the airport in the evening.
We pray for G team unity and boldness. Step out of your comfort zone and see where God takes you.
Danny, Lannah, Macy, and Autumn – you were constantly on our minds and I pray you all experience the romance of our God. (we went to the market today and got you all a Brasil bracelet since you are still on our team!!)

My prayers for you this morning came from the same scripture Jose Ibarra mentioned. I just LOVE when the Spirit does that!
I believe you experienced the compassion of our Savior in a fresh, new way today. Let His heart guide you as you serve tomorrow, no matter what task you are given.
Our God is in every detail. Praise Him for his loving care and concern for you even in the little things. It will bless His Abba heart.

Hi! Hope you had a great time at the orphanage! I thought about the team yesterday when I ran across Matthew 18:4,5 about receiving a little child in Jesus’ name. We’ll be praying especially about your time in Pamezabal, that God would take away any anxiety that anyone may have, and that He would show His power and love to you and the people of the village and would work through you there.
We miss you, Mary! The house is not the same without you. I’ll pray for boldness for you, and for Jesus to show His love through you.
Love,
Ellen O
We are so happy to hear that your trip is going well. I pray that God has been moving among you, especially at the orphanage today. I pray that He gave each of you a heart for all of those children who are in need, that you can see them through His eyes and love on them as he does. We are looking forward to more pictures and news of your activies. Taryn, We miss you but are so glad that you are there! We are sending all our love! Mom and Dad
