Thank You!

24 07 2009

I wanted to take a minute in the midst of all of the packing and cleaning that is going on right now (Thursday night) to say thank you. Thank you to a church full of people who understand the importance of the great commission. Thank you to a group of parents who said yes to the calling on their children’s lives. Thank you to the people who have supported us, both financially and with the many prayers that have been holding us up this week. Thank you to a student ministries staff that cares enough about its students to place them in situations where trusting God becomes the first and best option. Thank you to the families of the adults who are leading this trip. You have given selflessly of yourselves this week for the Kingdom of God. We love you all. We appreciate you all and we can’t wait to be reunited with you. We are not the same people who left Atlanta one week ago. We have experienced God deeply and we will never be satisfied with anything less.

In Him,

Paul for the GTeam

Wow! Another incredible day! This morning started out with going to the Albs’ home church.  We were there for about an hour and a half. Since the church is Guatemalan we were privileged to listen to the message in English, which Doctor Alb translated for us.

After church we went to Chilis in a local mall and had lunch and hung out for about an hour or two!

Later we went to the orphanage and had such an amazing time! All the kids were so sweet and they had such big smiles on their faces when we arrived. Each of the team members got a chance to play and talk with all the adorable kids. It is incredible to see how many kids are being taken care of and staying there. This Christian based orphanage brought so much joy and excitement to our team and to the children. Some stories from the orphanage are; Lindsay Clark got to see a little girl that she has been seeing each time she comes to Guatemala, we could all tell it brought so much joy to her and the little. Jordon and Caleb got beat up by a three year old little boy with a plastic shotgun while, Autumn cuddled with a precious four year old little boy.  Each team member had kids climbing all over then and we all had such a amazing time !!!!

Ok, so last night was one of our favorite nights that we have ever had. Grant was jumping on the trampoline when he jumped wrong and dislocated his knee. The bad thing was no one else was outside with him so he was screaming for help. Luckily, Caleb let the dog out  let out and heard his yell and got some of the adults .  They went outside to help while the kids came in the living room to gather around and pray. The second we started to pray, we felt God presence in the room. We also sang praise music. While Grant was outside he could hear us singing and we all felt so amazing with God even thought Grant was hurting. It was so awesome how our team came together as one heart. We prayed and worshiped from 7:00 until 10:00 Guatemala time. Team members were changed through this experience. We prayed over people’s distractions, fear, pains, and situations that were going on. We came very close, even though Grant was injured he brought us closer together, we are truly one heart for God now. God has changed us!!!!

Prayer requests,

-Grant’s knee (in cast)

-spiritual warfare

-Courage

-Boldness

-Car sickness

-Sicknesses (there is no one that is actually sick ,sick, just minor problems, that need prayer)

Blessings from Guatemala. I wanted to share a verse with you that Pastor Ronnie gave us this morning at church.
II Chronicles 7:14.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

GOD wants our heart and Satan wants us to hold on to the things that separate us from GOD. Ask him to release it and forgive you.

From The Team!

Guatemalan GirlsCaleb In Front of a Smoking VolacanoHey guys, it’s Kelsey!! :D We miss you all and are having an awesome time so far. This morning we had an INCREDIBLE devotion time with God, lead by Hermann. God spoke through Paul this morning and God really used his words for His glory, which lead Hermann to change his planned devotional to a God-Spoken message. The message was very powerful and God told us that when we let fear get to us and let Satan in, we cower & forget the power, truth, & worth that God has given us. When we let lies in, we forget the truth & need to be reminded. He told us that sometimes we need to be selfish and be refilled with God’s power, and love. We all had a beautiful moment of crying out to God this morning. God really gave us strength and reminded us of what we’re made for. Our ride to the village was crazy awesome. Very curvy roads, but we saw some beautiful breath-taking scenery. Our team is becoming more of a family & I am SO stoked for what God has in store. Love you everyone! Mom, Dad, Cores, Ky-Girl(Happy Birthday!) God is really beginning to move in us.

Hey everyone its Caroline! Today was an amazing day out in the village and in our morning devotional like Kelsey said! Today in the village I worked in the gospel sharing station for a while then moved to child evangelism. Most of the patients were already believers so we just encouraged and prayed over them. In child evangelism the kids were awesome and so fun to play with! I got to give them stickers, which they loved and most of all when you take pictures it is the best thing for them to be able to see themselves!! The trip home was very bumpy and lots of turns on mountains. We got home and ate dinner and most everyone was very tired, but we had an AWESOME day!!!

Tomorrow we will be going to Hermann’s local church, and after we will be going to the orphanage, Casa Para Ninos! :D

Prayer Requests:
-Car Sickness
-That God will strengthen us and give us courage.
-That we would surrender to Him & die to ourselves.
-That we would not let fear bring us down.
-We would continue to grow as a family.
-That God would just protect us from all spiritual attacks.
